Winthrop Maine Historical Society, 115 Main St. Gift Shop open, and Santa will visit after the parade!

Wonder Awhile Nursery School Christmas Fair,  9:00-2:00, Winthrop United Methodist Church: Baked goods, Lunch, Santa’s Workshop for children to shop for siblings, Children’s Crafts

Christmas Fair at Winthrop Congregational Church, UCC  9:00-1:00 corner of Main & Bowdoin Streets: Baked Goods & Candy.  Pints of Fish Chowder, Corn Chowder & Baked Beans, Kate’s Quilted Items & Church Dishcloths. Christmas Ornaments and Memorial Lights. Jewelry & Second Time Around. Kids Craft Table

Walking in a Winthrop Wonderland– downtown businesses are participating in a “shop hop” from Nov 25-Dec 2! Visit one business to be entered in the regular Prize Drawings, and if you visit ALL, you will be also be entered in the GRAND PRIZE drawing (a collection of gift cards from the businesses)! Businesses participating are Freckle Salvage, Mariposa, Pickle’s Potions, The Art Walk Shop & Studio, Cheney Jewelers, Everything Kids, Main Street Mercantile, and the WMHS History Center Gift Shop. 

Businesses will have special treats for you the day of the parade – tastings and samplings, etc.  Pick up your punch card at any participating business as early as Nov 25, visit any or all of the businesses any time during the week, and turn in your completed card at any of the businesses, or between 2pm-5pm Dec 2nd at the Warming Station at Winthrop Workspace. Winners will be drawn and notified Saturday after 5. 

 

Bailey Library, 39 Bowdoin St.   Winthrop Area Handbell Ringers performing at 1pm. Bailey Library will be in the parade! Friends of the Library will be doing their annual holiday pie sale 10-2 (can pre-order pies!) Friends of the Library mini, children’s only, Book Sale. 10-2 Adults can come and shop, Books will all be geared toward children.

“Warming Station” at Winthrop Workspace, 2:00 – 5:00. Come inside and warm your toes!  Winthrop Class of 2027 will be providing Hot Cocoa.  Come relax – Chair Massage available 3:00-5:00

The PARADE Kick-off is 3:30 pm; line-up for participants begins at 2:30 at the top of the Main Street hill

Visit with Santa after the parade! Immediately after the Annual Winthrop Parade, Santa will come into the History Center at 115 Main St. to greet children, friends and family for photos. People can use their own phones or cameras to take pictures. Santa will stay until all the wishes are heard from those who stop in after the parade. Donations appreciated.

After being rained out on Saturday, Dec 3, 2022, we had a beautiful sunny day for the parade on Sunday, Dec 4, 2022!
